Although the date falls on April Fools Day, don’t be fooled, Fringe veteran Eric Pinder WILL be hosting the “Unofficial Official Orlando Fringe Preview” from the safety of his own home 4/1/2020 at 7pm.
Actor, director, and playwright of award-winning Fringe hits “Driving Miss Cherry Blossom” and “Skip Peril”, Pinder has hosted the Family Friendly version of the annual preview several times through the years.
“I wasn’t going to let a pandemic stop my record of being the person to host the most Fringe events,” Pinder says “And though I’m vainglorious, I’m not reckless. I will be hosting from the safety of my home using various thirsty looking wigs and toys that I recently found during a cleaning frenzy.”
Despite the fact that the festival has been canceled this year, Pinder says he has no shortage of acts to introduce. “There seems to be a lot of one-person shows this year. And there’s a rather low budget look to some of them.”
Pinder is using this chance to raise money for the festival which is the longest-running non-juried Fringe in the U.S.
“It’s no understatement to say this is the most important and eagerly anticipated time of the year for the local arts scene. I just want to help in any way I can because this festival has given me so much. And also I’m a needy performer who craves attention.”
